Bodhi,

My ears are always open and I am not biased towards SACD - I have a LOT of GREAT sounding CD's.

CD's would just sound a LOT better if in SACD or High Rez (all things being equal).

I have heard many players in my time.....and look forward to hearing yours some day.

Cheers

Hey Darth,

I understand where you're coming from re: SACD's, however I think "obliterate" is a strong word. Perhaps you should reserve judgment until you've heard my deck and what it can do, but then again, it may not be possible to be objective if you're a one-eyed SACD guy. I just think you should keep an open mind as you may well be pleasantly surprised..

Cheers,

Bodhi

Bodhi,

I am certainly not a "one-eyed" SACD guy and not sure how you have come to that assumption based on the previous messages in this thread.

I own many RBCD's which sound great and play them regularly and have had the pleasure of listing to RBCD's on many people's and dealers systems over the years.

Unforunately, SACD is a VERY niche format but high resolution music is out there and growing.

192/24 high resolution music (when recorded/mastered/etc properly) allows us to enjoy the sound as good as the original mastertape which is mindblowing when you think about it.....

Have you heard SACD and/or high resolution music on your system?

Try it and let me know what you think.....

Pity we live so far apart mate, I could give you a quick demo between 44/16, 96/24 and 192/24 - in 10 minutes you would know what I am talking about..... :)

Nah, not 10 minutes, the difference was so staggering it takes around 10 seconds.

I was fortunate enough to have a date on the weekend with a trained soprano.

She sang a light aria for me in my hi-fi/living room!

We played an instrumental of "o mio babbino caro" by Puccini (on my dCS Puccini player!) and I was then totally transfixed by her sublime vocal performance.

Fortunately it didn't take any persuading for a reprise.

The sound of her vocals was far beyond what any Hi-Fi could reproduce......perhaps I should invite her along to the next SA GTG! :)

Nice combination, live Puccini accompanied by ... Puccini!

Sounds like a great and unique experience, very fortunate of you.

I think if you could arrange this it would be quite an event and I reckon you pack the place.

Mark what are you going to use for speakers in between selling the 5s and getting the 7s?.

I assume there will be a gap there somewhere.
