technics.

They should do this at the Britannia roundabouts.

Yes, perhaps Technics...

You're a man of the world Benjeman, drop a line to Mali and see if he will do it....

Then again, it may add MORE of a distraction to an intersection that people are already confused with.....

I'm sure there are plenty of other large roundabout locations in SA...

And the traffic in Australia (and the UK) goes clockwise around a roundabout, just like a record on a turntable...

Hey guys, Led Zeppelins official doco is FINALLY coming out in Feb.

I was thinking of watching it all together at Norwood and then we go out for drinks and grub at The Bath hotel across the road.

Who's in for some Zep?

Had a wonderful afternoon today at James'  ( @Benje ) stunning new home.

Inside was his amazing Home Theater which he mostly designed himself! (same as the house!).

Great sound from Krix speakers (made here in SA!) and I loved to hear Yello in surround (Dolby Atmos). Yes, James I do like surround! 🙂

One of my absolute fave films, Se7en has recently been released in 4K so we watched it together.

AMAZINGLY James had not seen it before and didn't know anything about it.

TOP notch picture and sound and also Adelaide Hills Pinot to boot.

Ended with some Top Gun 2.....incedible detail on close ups of faces....you can see the pores and all. Stunning.

Here is a pic from Se7en.....this evidence photo from the film is held by Brad Pitt and the pic was also used in the 4K disc packaging!

Very cool as this photo is in my Hi-Fi room and is one of my favourite movie props. Amazing to have a screen matched item that has also made it to the disc packaging.

Thanks again James for an extremely enjoyable afternoon.

You set up a theatre with 4 seats at the front and 3 behind (and 2 kids seats at the front), so the main listening position doesn't exist.  It is in between the two middle seats.

Darth sits down in the left chair as we begin listening to Jennifer Warnes.

"it is all coming from the left speakers" he says.

So I explain why, we switch seats and he notes how now the right side is slightly stronger than the left.  His ears never fail to disappoint.

Lots of favourable murmurs from Darth, but there were more in Yello's "The Race" (video of a live concert).

He also commented favourably on the blacks and skin tones  from the Sony 7000ES laser projector. @Clarity Calibration Tony will be pleased.

I'll post some more cinema details on my thread over the weekend.  It is 16 months since the last post.  Just got some ceiling porous absorbers to go (not that a theatre or a hi-fi is ever finished).

Yes, James, the ears still work...somehow! 🙂

Sorry, forgot the AWESOME live video of Yello.......wish we were at the concert in real life but this is the next best thing!

Yes, time to post about your journey.....which perhaps will never end....! 🙂

I was googling to see how close to my home this is and noticed that the roundabout at the otherside of the motorway is a power plug. Not sure if it is audiophile grade though.

Cool, thanks for sharing.

Looks like an audiophile power cable for sure! 🙂

The Led Zepellin doco movie probably won't be on the big screen for long.

It opens on Saturday 8th Feb at 630PM at Hoyts Norwood. We can then go for some drinks after the film.

A bit of trivia re the upcoming Led Zeppelin doco film, Becoming Led Zeppelin.

One of the members of one of my other fave bands, Garbage, - Duke Erikson (who is 74!), was an executive producer of the doco.

Here is a pic below of Garbage at the film screening (Duke is next to Shirley).

I was lucky enough to meet Duke in Tokyo after I saw them play earlier that day (afternoon concert!).

Insane guitarist from an incredible band.
