As well, he will be demonstrating his World acclaimed products and provide some breathtaking musical demonstrations on over $100k worth of speakers!Date: Wednesday October 19, 2011. Start Time: 6 for 6:30pm. Venue: Audio Trends Showroom; 10 Argent Place; Ringwood. Refreshments: Light Refreshments will be served. RSVP: Please click here to send us an email or call (03) 9874-8233 during business hours. Vienna Acoustic History The company was founded by audio engineer and designer Peter Gansterer in 1989, initially producing both Loudspeakers and tube or valve Amplifiers. They made their first appearance in the US market at the 1991 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and here about 10 years ago. Production in recent years has surpassed 20,000 units per annum which is a medium turnover in high-end terms. Production is spread over 14 different models which are dedicated first to the audiophile (although Peter and Kevin prefer the term music lover), but most of these models also appeal to the multi-channel, home theatre listener. In fact, if a speaker sounds great on Stereo music, it will do the job on multi-channel and home theatre systems. The main office and production facility are located a short drive from downtown Vienna. The factory is what is called a "white-glove" facility and for good reason. It operates as part of a sophisticated production chain - like a rail terminal - as one person described it. All the finished elements converge, are modified and tested against the "reference", given a final check and then packaged for shipment. All models are impeccably finished with each box having 8 layers of top coat, thus the "white-gloves". And I believe they are having Christophe Cabasse there next week some time (at least some time soon as he is visiting for the show).
Spearmint Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Busy weekend by the looks of it I look forward to reading peoples impressions of all the different events. I’ll be staying home enjoying the Rugby Friday and Sunday evening, and will not be in attendance at any of them, not that that makes a difference. But I still like to read others point of view. Good luck to the exhibitors, I hope it’s a success.
Guest JohnA Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 i'll be going friday my only interests are to hopefully see some nice room treatments and quality records will be there, so i will empty my wallet buying lots of vinyl after the show will be going out to dinner with a good friend should be a great day

Mjr69 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I hope to meet some fellow interstate forum members at the show on Saturday or at the GTG. Depending on your perspective I can be described as a well-built mature gentleman with silver hair and a tight cropped beard - or some might refer to me as an old fat bastard Please say Hi - my name is Mike. Anyone leaving from the show to the GTG that has room for one more in their car - that would be very much appreciated.

Guest obee Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I fear that there may be a few people coming up to me and asking if my name is Mike. Makes me glad I won't be attending in a way now, coz that'd make three of us !!
gone_bush Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Actually, you'd be able to tell that I'm not Mike, I've got a refined, distinguished look.

Steam Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 anyone been today? is it good, bad, average? and photos please.
SDL Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Went to the show today. Got there a bit early as left myself plenty of time given events in the city today with the great unwashed protestors. So sat around then realized a massive queue had formed and waited some time before getting in. Bumped into a few familiar dtv faces. The show itself is over the ground floor, level 3,4 and 5 of the hotel, so a fair bit to see. The lifts have to be used to get to 3 but once on 3 stairwells are open. A lot to get through if you want to listen to all the various speakers, amps etc. I got around it in a few hours but was a bit selective as to what I spent most time on. I did have a look at the 3d projectors as did want to see how they had come along. Thought the new jvc demo was pretty good, still bright, nice color contrast, and the shift to 2.35:1 and 16:9 without a lens was nice. The Epson I found very ordinary, could be the setup but in honestly wasn't impressed at all and found it was rather poor in picture. But the real star was the Runco. A true 3d with two lenses firing two true hd pictures at the screen. Was by far the best 3d picture and appeared to suffer nothing in overall quality. Still not ready myself to make the leap as I don't think I would watch, and really thinks my picture looks far far superior to the Epson, the jvc was good but not good enough, and the Runco, well don't have the cash right now. I also had a look at some of the speakers and really starting to think next project (though not just yet) would be a good 2channel upgrade. Did like the Cabasse setup again after hearing them at audio trends. They really are nice speakers that have so much detail. This time they have the 130k speakers playing which sounded great, still out of my range but the 25k ones I might save for. The other option was some b&w 802s which also sound nice and look good for waf. But both would have to wait a while yet. Overall it is great to see the show on again and so well supported. A lot to see and some familiar faces around from cav, clef, audio trends etc. All helping in various rooms with products they sell. Worth the visit but like all these shows you really only get a small taste of the products and need to go have a proper look/listen at the stores who sell them. For those going tomorrow I would suggest getting there early and going to some of the rooms up the top so you can have a listen to some things before the crowds overwhelm the place. Have fun.
Drizt Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Anyone get a chance to listen to my speakers? I assume they were on display today? SGR MT3FSL's ?
SDL Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 The sgr room was on the ground floor. I went in a couple of times for a look but didn't get much chance to have a real listen to them.

Or is there too much chit. Hat going on ?
SDL Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Are all the rooms packed ? Do you get much of a chance to listen to anything ? Or is there too much chit. Hat going on ? No, they were not all packed, and some had the right idea of letting a few in then running a demo and shutting the door. This worked well with those that did it. The sgr room I didn't see doing that and also suffered from being on the ground floor I think. Though saying that I did get a good look at the new jvc projector next door as not many on there.
kc01 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Is there any show specials? I.e. great pricing valid during the show only.
SDL Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Yes there are show specials in various rooms, and also some prizes to win in a couple.
