For those with either the Astone AP-100 or 110d see link below. Appears to be many changes incorporated - wont have a chance to update mine for a couple of days so cant comment on changes made.

Thanks hodge06, just bought the 110D so update the firmware before I set it up

Unfortunately as I don't know how it performed on 1.75 I can't draw any comparisons, however it seems not to like some of my XviD files...got the impression buying this that it would play just about anything....

Any chance it's the files? I'm under the same impression re it playing just about anything...As mentioned in title - this is a beta release so you may want to wait for a bit to understand any issues etc.

Would love to know what people think of the new update. Most of all BT performance and Upnp Performance.

Cheers and good luck with the updates!

Bought one yesterday which has the 1.7.3 firmware. Running on that for the moment but have the 1.9 Beta ready to load next.

Does anyone know if it should be able to mount an EXT2 formatted drive? The spec says EXT3 so I assumed it may be backward compatible. I was trying to access files from my Topfield 7100 PVRt.

I've just made a couple of Xvid AVI's, 1440x1080 and 720x 400 with Mobile Media Converter so will see how they go. The other AVI's I have, unknown origin, work fine, along with MP4's I made for Ipad with MMC.

Thanks

Andy

Plays my XviD files from the USB, infact plays pretty much everything OK from the USB

However major problem with UPnP, calls the same files it plays from USB invalid and struggles to play anything at all

I am connected over wireless, but am using the ASTONE USB dongle and the router is only across the hall so it should work, the PS3 does!

Will try using a wireless bridge or worst case a wired solution to see if that is indeed the issue or whether it's something more sinister :)

Sorry Darth, dont use UPnP and use mine wired (some do ok with wireless but for my money just cant beat a wired connection if at all possible)

V1.9 update for the Astone is essentially the same as 1.81 for the Tevii unit which is a clone of the Astonr 110d. The Tevii firmware looks much nicer i think.

I actually flashed mine with the Tevii firmware as well, I didn't like it, the blue background was very hard on the eyes, like the Astone black backgound much better :)

BTW, anyone looking for an Astone Wireless N USB Dongle? Brand new in box, $30 posted, PM if interested

I finally got around to upgrading to this latest FW version today. Observations:

- Couple of M4V files that were previously coming up as unrecognised played with no problem after the upgrade.

- At first glance it appears the annoyance of having to turn off sub titles for each new file played has been corrected. They now appear to stay off unless wanting them on.

- Network browsing is quicker

In short - has fixed a few issues and not raised any new ones for me so far. Torrent functionality has been added with this version but I am not likely to be using it.
