Hey Guys,

Was looking for some advice / help. I bought a Projection screen a few months / several months ago. But have never put it up since i just wasnt sure how to put it up. I think i have the choice of hanging it on the wall or from the roof (It seems to have holes so i can do either option). But Do i need to know where the frame is or something behind the wall / on the roof so i can make sure to attach it into those spots? I guess If i just attach it anywhere that it might just fall down since the wall or roof wont be able to hold the weight?

what i did was get a long piece of 30mm square timber and some big thisk timber screws.. then screw that bit horizontally across the wall where you want to hang the screen putting as many screws along the wall at you want.. and them put whatever you need into that piece of timber to hang your screen, however t is supposed to be mounted..

I would recommend you borrow / invest in a stud finder. You can pick one up for about $30 from Bunnings. Yes you definitely want to mount the screen off a wooden stud. Find out what construction was used in your ceiling or walls. I would definetely not recommend mounting just to plasterboard.

Plenty of info / tips available if you do a search. Also check threads on mounting projectors if you are ceiling mounting as it is the same basic process with a screen (mount to studs etc)

Good luck,

I used to have a stud finder, but the damn thing kept going off whenever I got close.

Ok, I might go pick one up myself. Do i have to have / use some kind of Electric Drill or something? I have never actually used them before, plus i take it that it will definitely leave certain sized holes on the wall / ceiling if i ever remove the projector later on? I am not very woodwork handy, not much experience in that department.
