Eli Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Hello All, Wasn't too sure if anyone here would be interested but thought I might as well give it a go, there could be a 'DIY screener' around. This would probably suit someone in Adelaide looking at a DIY screen. The item is a 2440mm x 1220mm piece of re-board (http://www.re-board.net), similar to gatorfoam which some people use for DIY screens. Would be approx a 98" 16:9. It is very light and very strong, pretty hard to track down in a single sheet - I originally wanted it to make a cheap DIY screen for the house I'm in now, but I've discovered with the room I have it just won't work with placement. It would be ideal for fixing on a wall, paint (if you wanted, although it's not bad now) and maybe a border trim and you're done. I'm asking $80 - some paint and border material and you have a DIY screen for $120 or so. Would need to be pickup because of size. If anyone is interested just let me know. Cheers.

Welcome - that stuff looks interesting as a DIY material - especially as it comes in a 3200 x 1600mm sheet of various thickness from 10mm up to 96mm Who did you buy it off in Adelaide ? I'm curious as to who the distributors/retailers are in Melbourne and the website is not that specific - as I could see myself using it (not as a screen though) if it were readily available.
weff Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Have replied to your PM, cheers. Thanks! And the answers were for anyone else who is interested: I got it from a place called Acrilix Plastics in Adelaide, took a little while to find especially when you only want one sheet! http://www.acrilixplastics.com.au/index.htm I think HalifaxVogel are the Australian distributors - give their Melbourne office a call and they might be able to help you out. Melbourne 79-81 Wedgewood Road Hallam VIC 3803 p: +61 (03) 8795 0900 As you can see the material is pretty clever - very strong and light. Good luck. ...and a reminder - this is really a FS thread for someone wanting a DIY screen using re-board
