Hello there ;) . having only just switched to digital and thus finding this site, i must say im a little overwhelmed by the amount of info on here :o . I have just purchased the Sharp LED LCD LC40LB700X with built in Blu Ray and just recieved the bonus Topfield TRF7160 today. While i did use the search function ( its always my first option ) i was unable to find the info needed. Sometimes there are so many replies that it would take a day to sift through them . So my first query is,.... is it possible to copy multiple files ( such as JPG's ) at once from a USB to the Toppies HDD or can they only be transferred one at a time ? I would imagine this is possible when its networked with my lappie but as yet i haven't got to that stage.

Thanks :)

In short, no. Once you have your network set-up then just FTP the files.

Also coming shortly to the 7160 when new firmware is released shortly will be the ability to timer record 4 services and time-shift a 5th (provided all are from no more than two different broadcasters), NTFS external support and support for externally written TAPs.

Dang, OK thanks, im on that steep learning curve having entered the Digital, Blu ray, PVR world, cables and settings galore , i actually dont mind it , keeps me busy but its exhausting sometimes.

Also i have noticed some green flashing when changing channels , sometimes just a flash, sometimes the screen stays green till i change channel again. I read there maybe a firmware fix for this,.....anyone heard of this ?

Sounds like HDMI sync issue. If you have connected it up to the TV via HDMI and it's set to "Auto" resolution, the Toppy re-syncs every time you change channels as they maybe different resolutions. If you set the output resolution on the Toppy to say 1080i, this should stop this issue.

What Firmware is your TRF-7160 running?

There's also plenty of info and help on the iTopfield Forum.

ran into this problem myself.... with a TRF2400

it won't run a jpg slideshow from usb either.

Disappointing for a device boasting 3 USB ports.

Additionally it won't copy to a specific directory on the hard drive.... so if you want to copy a bunch of jpgs from USB to HD you have to do it one by one.... then on the HD copy them again one by one into a specific directory. you would think that copying a folder would not be too much trouble.

bottom line... network is pretty much essential for moving files around and pretty much a failure with USB and internal copying.
