44 Inch Chest

Recommended Posts

Being a HUGE Ray Winstone fan, I've been anxiously awaiting the blu-ray release. In the meantime I've read lots of reviews and sadly, the vast majority aren't favourable sooo my question is, has anyone on this forum seen the film and/or bought the blu-ray who could tell me if it's any good.

Feedback off real people rather than antsy pantsy reviewers are usually more factual!!

This is a very 'dark', greyish film, with a considerable amount of the 2nd half filmed in dark rooms (

this coming from a 720p 'experience'

- almost like a play.

I agree with this review - http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/44-Inch-Ches...y-Review/10165/

The image is intentionally bleak and dingy—the whole movie is cast in a dismal grayish brown—but the lack of color belies an otherwise decently appointed picture

I wouldn't watch expecting something along the lines of Sexy Beast - sun and swimming pools definitely aren't in this film :) Maybe rent first.

thanks Tonyjg and Chopsus for the feedback, much appreciated.

It's interesting that in the review on Blu-ray.com that the region coding isn't mentioned by any users. If a film's popular, one of the users on that forum will post region coding quick smart and that worried me too...it's obviously not even one that people are buying.

Sigh...might leave this one alone and re-visit Sexy Beast and Vincent for my Ray fix!

I can confirm the US release is region locked and the film is good to watch. It's more like a play, got shocking colourful language and nothing like action packed thriller as you might think. I rate 2/5.

The film wouldn't much good without McShane and without Winstone anyway.
