Alanpartridge Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 JB's in Joondalup have some good store opening deals, in particular, they've the Sony 2400ES reciever at $844 - original ticket price $12**. I would have jumed on but had a recent trip to UK to pay for. In case I can get someone to buy this for me or even layby it for a while, any thoughts on this reciever? It appears to have all the correct acronyms, 4 HDMI inputs, Farouja upscaling, built like a tank etc.

troyww1503560303 Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Thanks for the heads up . Is that sticker price or what you haggled them down to ? Also like a black one .
Alanpartridge Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 (edited) The model on display was black and that was the special ticket price. There were special opening offer tickets on maybe 25% of TV's and Hi-Fi items. I can only remember the price of one other items - Jamo A102 hcs Sub/Sat @$688 I think they had the Yamaha 863 at under $1000 - not sure and very good prices on the 363 and 463. Also very good prices on Yamaha HT systems and Onkyo Amps. I have no links to any advertising. Edited December 5, 2008 by solly

Thanks solly Sorry to push my own interests on to you For $844 that's a bargain for the entry level es receiver for sure. For me only a little bit up from my old sony strdb795. I'm looking a little bit higher again but this 2400 is a damn good buy if that's what you can afford
troyww1503560303 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 (edited) Thanks for the heads up Dude . I just got home from picking one up . I got my enormous bargaining stick out and beat him down to the low low price of $830 . There is now one left . They had the Onkyo 606 for ~$942 and the rxv883 for ~$1140 I really didn't want to drive all the way to joondalup so I rang a couple of closer stores including sony central to try to pricematch and they reckoned that price was well below their buy price BTW it came with the manual amendment which from a little googling means it has the updated firmware that fixes some issue early issues this model had . Alanpartridge Posted December 6, 2008 Author Posted December 6, 2008 $830? Well done mate. I went in earlier and got one on layby a 10% deposit. Sorry I got the price of the 863 wrong.
