Could not find a 7100 best price topic,if there is one please move this, thanks.

GG Bundaberg just let me have one for $499,I think they made a mistake but who knows.

The sales guy was saying that most are buying ones with built in DVD recorders.

This price was after telling the boss that you can get the 7000 for $400.

HDrocks: :P On a Toppy.

Well done :D ... that was definately a mistake on the sales guys behalf. The TF7000's have been rumoured to be available for $399 these days, but that is because they are now a discontinued line from Topfield and it is to make way for the TF71000HDPVRt. Which I think has an RRP of $899 still.

Having said this... I know some people that picked up a TiVo for $300 (including the WiFi adaptor normally an extra $60) at a recent trade show in Melbourne.

The sale ticketed price for the 7100 in GG was $649.All I did was ask for a better price.

Is anyone willing to post a receipt for the 7100? I have been to a few shops so far, no luck as yet. Ticket price is $689 and their "best price" was $660. Not much of a discount oh well I'll keep trying :)

In one of my local junkmails there was a topfield hd pvrt for $339 it didnt state a model number but mentioned a 250gig hdd which would make it the 7000 but the picture you could read the 7100pvrt. I reckon if you go in you might beable to score one for that.

It was either clive anthonys or clive peters one of the two.

Hi

My Brother said someone on Whirlpool got a 7100 for around $500, its a new(ish) Model, something going on to be that cheap no matter how well the DVD Rec. are selling.

That might have been me. I managed to get $537 from Clive Anthony's in Brisbane and it was no mistake. I was told they had the Toppy 7000 there and were going to price match Clive Peeters price of $399 but they couldnt find the stock but he asked if I wanted to 7100 at good price. Without any haggling at all he said I could have it for $537. SOLD ... and loving it :)

Tried this tactic this morning at Clive Peeters in Belrose (Sydney's North). The rude salesman said to me "It's just a picture, mate," and was unwilling to budge on the $899 ticket price. Brings into question the whole issue of sticking to what they advertise - does this mean they could publish a picture of a banana and still sell me a TV?

Anyway, the guy rubbed us up the wrong way, and I won't be shopping at Clive Peeters anymore. I'm yet to find a 7100 in Sydney for less than $680, which is still a bit outside my price range.

Hi,

I think I mentioned on another post that GG in Brisbane (Oxley) was selling the BW DP-P1 for $710.00 and the Toppy 7100 for $650.00. Retravision in Indooroopilly sells the Toppy 7100 for $655.00. I'm sure I could get them lower but I"m looking into the BW DP-P2 and unfortunately GG in Oxley is sticking to $850.00.

I read on another post Harvey Norman in Garden City sells the P2 for $799.00

Just a quick update.

On this great Sunday morning I went to Harvey Norman in Oxley and picked up the BW DP-P2 for $770.00 and $79.00 for a 4 year extended warranty. I have called 2 Good Guys stores in Brisbane as well and both have said they will match the $770.00.

I will have to spend tonight a few hours on the setup as I would like to connect Foxtel on it. I will report on my progress when I'm done.

thanks again for everyone on this forum for helping and contributing.

That's a very good price.

The 7100 and 7000 are basically the same except the 7100 has a bit larger harddrive and built in networking ability)

Have a read of the PVR FAQs for more info.

Any 7000's will be old second hand or refurbished stock. A new 7100 can be haggled to $600 without too much grief.

Personally I wouldn't recommend the 7100 as it has a lot of faults/glitches. I think Tivo is the best value at the moment for $550 for the unit or $600 including wireless adaptor (haggle price).

Personally I wouldn't recommend the 7100 as it has a lot of faults/glitches.

My experience, and a number of reports from others, indicated that with the latest firmware this is no longer the case for both the 7100 and 7000 models.

Further I have not heard that the 7000 is no longer available from the Australian distributors.
