Folks I wanted to bring up BD-Live because as a PS3 user for some time I have noticed that the interactive stuff on the Sony website is very stale.

It appears to me that there are sometimes "features" that never really take off with these video formats. As an example take the ANGLE feature on DVD. I don't think I have once seen a DVD where it was available and it was one of those things that was supposed to be revolutionary with the format back when introduced.

As a new owner of the Pio51 which doesn't have this feature I don't think I am missing out on much. Maybe the future will prove me wrong, but I honestly can't swallow the idea of BD-Live being worthwhile long term. I mean what happens in 5 years to the content? Or in 10 years when there might be a new HD format.

What do you guys think?

Ive owned the PS3 ever since it came out, and for the amount of time i owned it, i have only ever tried BD live once! thats right...once! ( edit: not that bd live is that old mind you ).

Cant remember the movie, it was while you watch the movie, a box/screen comes up and ask's you a specific question regarding the scene that just played, with a multichoise answers, and by answering the correct question you get points... bit silly if you ask me.

Im the type that is interested in the movie itself and only the movie, i hardly ever check out even the special features, maybe deleted scenes but thats about it.

As yourself, i also have the bd51fd due to its great PQ/SQ, and thats all i need, if i ever want to check out the pointless rubbish they put in those bd live features, i can simply put the disc in the PS3 if im ever that desperate or bored :)

P.S. i also dont think ive ever witnessed a multi angle feature that was raved about on the upcoming dvd's! would of been good for live music performances and such.

bd live - tried it once and it took too much of an effort so i just never bothered with it...... to me its not an important feature at all....

have never used it and probably will never use it. I hardly ever look at the extras on the disc so i doubt ill waste more time looking up crap over the net. I buy movies to watch, all the extra stuff is not that important. when buying a bd player bd live is way at the bottom of the list for me

Ive said it from the outset...dont see the point in BD live features. IM happy with bunus view content as its on the dicsc, quick and adds to my in movie experirnce. I dont get why so many studios are jumping on BD live content. It really does make the assumption that all owners have a net connection to their player, which for enthusiats will more than likely be the case. But if BD does achieve mass odoption, most general users will not, making it pointless. Seems like lots of effort with little gain.
