xrcist007 Posted November 27, 2008 Author Posted November 27, 2008 I already made a post about this in the bargains thread. my apologies
Muaddib Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Dusk til dawn was one of the oldest movies I got on DVD. My player in 1999 came with Contact, Wild Wild West and one other I can't remember.
Muaddib Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 my apologies You did nothing wrong mate. How were you to know it was posted in the Bargains thread. Not like everyone goes through every thread and every post. It's one thing I hate about the culture here. If it's a new subject then post it in a new thread.akes it easier to search for relevant info. Not buried in a bullsh!t 50 page thread with no relevance to the search terms.

Messiah1095 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Link in the bargains thread: http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?s=&...t&p=1210392 Didn't mean to cause any drama. I just pointed out that the information was already on the forums.

peterjcat Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Sin City just arrived from Amazon.ca (2nd cheapest shipping option is a must) and it looks and sounds great. Still going for CDN$12.95 (=A$15ish) plus shipping of course. Note that the listing and the box say DTS 5.1 but it is in fact DTS-HD MA 5.1.
Messiah1095 Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Sin City just arrived from Amazon.ca (2nd cheapest shipping option is a must) and it looks and sounds great. Think I just picked standard shipping but I've still got quite a few Blu's to go through. Glad to hear about the disc though.

Eth Nick Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 So when's the Australian release date of Sin City?
BD2009 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 regarding amazon.ca, how long is their standard shipping to Australia? Is it really 8-10 weeks or more? and how long is expedeited shipping? I have placed these 2 on order, but might change it to expedeited...

I have placed these 2 on order, but might change it to expedeited... It really is that long, I think they still use sea mail. Expedited shipping is much faster, in my case 10 days. Re the Australian release of Sin City: no idea. There hasn't even been a US release, just this Canadian one that came out of nowhere. Distributor quirks I suppose. It's region free though. I haven't watched it all the way through but the PQ looks pretty good so far -- razor sharp on the animated stuff, good blacks and details on the rest, great colour in the highlights. But the DVD version was also very good as I remember.

Mjr69 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Is it the std version of Sin City or the extended version?
huggy Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I dunno about their shipping times,I ordered sin city and then took a look at this thread.Much to my surprize a week later it was at my doorstep
delarge Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 After two bad experiences waiting for Amazon expedited packages to arrive, I took a gamble and ordered From Dusk Till Dawn, Sin City and A Nightmare on Elm Street from dvd-plus.com in Canada. The standard 'small packet air' postage method took around a week and a half from memory. Was very impressed for the price and speed of delivery and will definitely give them another go if I order Blu-ray movies from Canada again. Cheers! Adam.
Priory Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 Bit the bullet & ordered these from Amazon.ca at around $27 shipped (via expedited) hopefully will get them in a few weeks

Messiah1095 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Any updates on the PQ/AQ of these movies and also whether the Sin City BD is the Director's or Theatrical cut? Review for Sin City: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?i...amp;show=review I've heard other people say similar things about the quality. Doesn't say if it's directors cut or not but I doubt it would be.
