I bet we don't see these ads on either of the local channels, GWN and WIN - be blooody ironic if we did though!

...confirmed sighting... what were they thinking?

dddp, st3v3 and all others,

Go to dddp's link to the West story and click on have your say at the end of the article.

If there is enough response maybe they will print an article on it.

Note that GWN is owned by Prime TV which is not the 7 network who has a stake in the West Australian

Of course the 15 digital channels, or should that be up to 15 digi channels, may only be available where there is already a full digital service, ie commercial, ABC and SBS, not just ABC and SBS. So if you are in rural/country WA, forget it. I would suggest waiting for maybe another fistful or so years.

done, see below

"In the second biggest city outside the metro area, with a population bigger than that of Greater Hobart (which has had digital TV for many years), we still don't have any digital broadcasting at all by either GWN or WIN. It is an unconfirmed report that digital broadcasting will commence in mid 09. Some of us have heard this many times before, I myself received an email from the WA manager of WIN TV stating they were going to commence digtial broadcasting in late 2005! And they wonder at the low take up of digital TV in regional areas? Provide the service and people will watch it! ABC and SBS are to be commended for providing digital TV for regional centres, it's not before time that the commercial stations also moved into the 21st century to complete the service!"

dddp,

Good on you, I hope the print it but don't hold your breath. We need many others to do the same.

You will see Freeview ads on the ABC & SBS
