Interesting article, i've heard they are releasing 500GB and 1000GB externals, but is there any idea of pice yet, also what's to stop you using a standard external hardrive at the moment???

The firmware won't let you access an external drive.

Price is unknown but based on other bigger drive offerings for other PVRs it won't be cheap. I'd expect $250+ for the 500Gb option.

hi roxy, check the main tivo thread, those wanting larger drives are dropping in 1TB units and the like at quite low cost and effort.

otherwise if wanting for the 1TB add on, will have to wait till released and expect to pay ofcourse as will be a proprietary solution using a special rated drive I beleive
