I am having a terrible time with computer tv cards. (Googling reveals that this isn't uncommon.....)

Anyway, the latest is that I bought a Compro E700 and installed the software that came with it (yesterday). Recording would only seem to happen from one tuner, and it would only record from the main screen. If a recording was scheduled and the main screen was showing a different channel, it would switch the main screen to the channel it was scheduled to record from, and then, after recording, switch to the same channel as on the secondary screen. It wouldn't allow 2 recordings scheduled at the same time, it would say there was a clash.

I have another computer that has XP media centre, so I tried the card in there and it works properly, records from both tuners, etc. I can leave it in there, and put the other card from the Media Centre in the other computer, but the 2 screen picture-in-picture thing is pretty good, and there is an EPG on the Compro installation which would be good to be able to use.

Did I do something wrong installing, configuring or using the Compro software - do others have it working properly and can it be fixed up? Or is it possible to get the EPG information displayed in Media Centre (I can live without the PIP function, but the EPG would be very useful)? (This is just the free-to-air EPG I'm talking about - there's no internet connection)

Thanks.

Thanks, techo (but I can't follow it :D )

Sorry mate on rereading your post I realize you have MCE (XP) not VMC (vista), the TV pack is for vista only. I guess you already know, but as far as I know, the easiest ways of putting an epg into MCE are web based. See also Renura's post on the page as the link in my previous post. (if it work, but works for me)

That's ok, there was a link in one of the posts referring to some means of extracting the info generally, but it's not something I can understand.

After fiddling around with it yesterday, my preference is to figure out how to get the Compro software working (assuming that it does work, of course :D). The original card from the Media Centre PC won't work in the other computer - the HD channels' sound doesn't work :(
