ckent Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 (edited) This is purely a curiosity to me, since [a] Cricket means nothing to me, I'm only watching the HD to see the grass, literally, [c] there's nothing actually happening this morning at all, thanks to the 25cm of rain last night. But good on Nine. CK. Edited November 19, 2008 by ckent
Junkyard Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 OH NO , the HD camera's were damaged in the storms!!!
ckent Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 What were they talking about? I saw they got bored and showed off Global's HD cameras ... were they really damaged?
bangbang Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 What were they talking about? I saw they got bored and showed off Global's HD cameras ... were they really damaged? yep, four of the feckers - worth $250,000 each.
ckent Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 In an über-geeky observation: The logo's moved to the 16:9 area today. Lotsa margin, but it's technically in the corner now. CK.
Hosko Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 yep, four of the feckers - worth $250,000 each. Broadcast cameras are modular with 3 separate sections, the lens, head and dock. I would be very surprised if all 3 sections were damaged and a complete write off. Sure the lens is most susceptible to damage and the most expensive section.
lizclinton Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Looks like WIN HD misses out.CK. Regional TV = Missing out
Zubiz1503560776 Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Yep as per normal, They have not woken up to the fact that people in regional or so called regional centers have discovered HD yet for that matter I'm not sure 9 think any of us even own a TV.

Actually its just that channel 9 don't really give a stuff about you because you aren't in an area to view their signal. Why get angry at Channel 9?? What do you expect them to do??
lizclinton Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Stop supplying content to WIN until they get their technical standards up to the network nine standard would help for starters.
vasili Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Things will change soon anyway with this new freeview thing. Next year it will be HD everywhere in Australia. Just wait 1 year lol
Hosko Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Stop supplying content to WIN until they get their technical standards up to the network nine standard would help for starters. Yeah good idea then no one in regional Australia would be able to view the cricket. idiot.
lizclinton Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Yeah good idea then no one in regional Australia would be able to view the cricket. idiot. Would that be such a great loss Mr Hosko when we don't see it in HD now and Win's 7Mbps SD service has a PQ almost as bad as SBS. Pity nine cant make one of their Foxtel sat channels open for people in WIN areas. To my eye the Sydney nine sat service looks better than WIN SD by a mile and I for one wouldn't miss Win's pathetic local news in 4x3 or all the analogue tape noise.
