I watched this "movie" on Monday night after deliberately trying to avoid reading about it since it was released in the cinemas. I don't remember feeling this let down since finding out I wasn't adopted! What is George Lucas trying to do?

Anyone watched this yet? Would anyone like to join a group dedicated to stopping George Lucas before the sh!t with Star Wars in the title outweighs the brilliant stuff? I'm thinking of starting one.

.... oh and no, I didn't like the Clone Wars. It was very bad.

Clone Wars was great!!!! I saw it at the cinema and everyone I saw it with agreed it was well worth seeing. At first it was a little hard to get into with the lack of an opening scroll (the Starship Tropperesq news style opening was different) which told you straight away this wasn't normal Star Wars fair. It was also a little distracting with some of the cutesy names used, but hey, it's primarily a kids movie. Any way it was good enough I got the Blu-ray (arrived today).

I have also seen the first six episodes of the new series based on this movie. They are also alot of fun.

This isn't oscar material, it was never meant to be. It's just a whole lot of fun set in the Star Wars universe.

Looking forward to seeing more of where the series goes and a hopeful Blu-ray release of it too.

I saw it at the cinema for free, and hated it. I found pretty much everything about the film to be very weak, the story, animation, acting etc. Granted, it was never going to be oscar winning, but I had hoped for something better.

I thought the movie was the first 4 or so eps of the series strung together?? Am i mistaken??

I've watched 6 eps and thought it was ok.

Hakka.

Yes I would have to agree with ajm it's pretty bad i mean Jabba's son...come on. The series is not too bad and some episodes are quite good even better then the acutal movies but they still make the battle droids the comdey relief which is just dumb imo.

Ok I'll spill my guts but in spoilers for those that don't want to know.

First, the things I enjoyed. The animation style. The combat scenes.

The things I disliked. The opening credits. The opening score. The opening narration. The bad NZ accents.

The things I detested. Sky guy. Snips. Stinky. The tweeney-ness. Truman Capote the Hutt. That idea that artilary would try and shoot through the shields when blowing up the bridge would have ended the whole affair instantly.

Basically it is just a very flimsy story with some very annoying characters. I think the biggest let-down is the fact that it had such potential. There are some great ideas in this but they are mostly overshadowed by some really really poor character interaction and nonsense plotting. That and the "stupid" is laid on in this movie by the trowel load. Every character seems to have a slap-stick moment and a few have several of them. If this were the Smurfs it would fit the mood but this is Star Wars and slap-stick is something that has grown with every incarnations. I imagine the next episode having Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider doing poo and fart jokes.

Some will enjoy it - some will enjoy anything - but I felt like this was the dumbest Star Wars story I've seen.

The key point being "seen". Not seen the Caravan of Courage or Christmas Special either. :P

I can only suggest that you skip the Jar Jar episode when it comes out...Even if you think Clone Wars is okay, that one episode may change your opinion.

The next time I see that stupid Gungan I want it to be as a rug in Boba Fett's living room...
