jutta Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Was a surprise for me when I watched it on HD DVD And the 2yr old loved the trains etc etc Been waiting for it to hit the Bluray list The 3D Bluray version has been canned by all who have purchased it in the US Stay away from the 3D and just get the normal release in a week or two I was gonna buy the 3D myself but after reading quickly changed my mind Many were the same people who said the Journey to the Centre of the Earth had quite a good 3D effect but Polar Express was virtually unwatchable. Never in focus etc etc
Gino Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 That's unfortunate, I got a good kick out of watching Journey to the centre of the earth in 3d. Was going to watch polar express 3d a little closer to christmas.
Lycanthrope Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 The review of the 3D on High-Def Digest was OK. Still would like to see it. Although it is on at Imax.
jutta Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I have yet to see JOURNEY But Polar Express uses the old style Red/Blue glasses where Journey uses a newer technology
Gino Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Journey uses magenta and green, polar uses red and blue. Will be nice when we get the polarised style
Adelaideltpc Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 So anyone has a release day of PE 3-D in oz? I want the HD audio.
digitalj Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 So anyone has a release day of PE 3-D in oz?I want the HD audio. yes discovered the other day that the 2D version in Australia only has plain old DD and we don't have a released 3D version which would've had HD Audio. I can't believe that any studio is still putting lossy audio on BD's.
SDL Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I can't believe that any studio is still putting lossy audio on BD's. You can't? I can, and while I don't applaud it I thought it was obvious they would and will continue to.
Adelaideltpc Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 You can't? I can, and while I don't applaud it I thought it was obvious they would and will continue to. Evidently, Get Smart - I couldn't believe that the audio is just DD. Cmon' what are they thinking? I DO NOT buy any new release bd without HD audio.

Serpeant Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Evidently, Get Smart - I couldn't believe that the audio is just DD. Cmon' what are they thinking?I DO NOT buy any new release bd without HD audio. Polar Express is only $25 at BigW. However like you, I refused to buy it when I say DD5.1.
