gbang007 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I recently got this tv and its damn nice! the picture is superb! couldn't be happier. The only thing is, when i had the rugby union on last night, the picture wasn't as clear. it was a little bit pixelated/fuzzy. I'm not sure if it was the signal from overseas but it wa sin HD(10). Anyone know any settings worth fiddling around with the tv to improve this? mainly sports, it doesn't look as good as a movie/tv show. What are some recommended settings for the tv that people have? 100hz cannot be turned off can it? just curious and want to try it without it.
diesel Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Even though the footy was telecast on 10HD, it would most likely not be shot on HD cameras, and then if it was, it would have been excessively compressed for sending via satellite. Then when they get it at this end they try and pump it up again, but the quality has been lost. Not much sport is shot and telecast in HD yet. Some of the AFL games, I think Foxtel have some NRL/Soccer games in HD, and the NFL on 10HD. CH9 might be starting some NRL games next year.
Abaddon Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 watch the NFL on 10HD tomorrow morning to remind yourself how good the picture can be when the content is good.

I am very impressed with this model.

Yes...it blew me away the firts time I saw it. Mind you it's not fast paced like other football sports, so they get some great camera angles

I think I read somewhere else that you can only access that setting when you already have your PC actually connected and have the TV on the PC's AV channel. If you've tried this then I don't know.
