Neerav Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I'm currently experimenting with the Topfield 5000PVRT I bought for my family to use and I've been blown away by all the useful TAPS to customise the PVR's settings and interface Sure I've read plenty of forum posts on DTVforums over the years raving about how good TAPs are but I didn't appreciate the benefits until now I am experimenting wit these TAPS and will selectively disable those I don't like: TAPCommander timer_extend8.11 TF5000DisplayV1_53a QuickJump EPGnavigator_v5_1c Archive V1.0a Overfly info_viewer UK OZ Surfer V0.11a.zip
pgdownload Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Sure I've read plenty of forum posts on DTVforums over the years raving about how good TAPs are but I didn't appreciate the benefits until nowYep, an amazing example of how 'open source' development can create an amazing product. Many TAP writers have spent 100's of hours developing functionality and I'm amazed that most provided the results for free with a few few of the exceptional ones only charging a small 'thankyou' fee. Unfortunately, it seems TAPs starts and stops with the SD Toppies. Regards Peter Gillespie
diesel Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Don't the HD Toppies utilise some of the lessons learnt from the TAPS and are a better product as a result?
Sway Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Don't the HD Toppies utilise some of the lessons learnt from the TAPS and are a better product as a result? In a word ....no! A real shame it is too. Topfleld were well ahead of the game with the 5000. Sway
GregA1503560021 Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Check out UKAS. Brilliant. Hear that a show will come on some time, put it in the search, and it'll auto record when it comes on. Use JustEPG to see this weeks guide - select a show to record and it can enter it into UKAS so that it records whenever it's on at whatever time it's on.
