craigdmb Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Hi All, I know Philips are pulling out of the tele market in Australia, and that is a worry although I stumbled accross this... I am looking at a Samsung Series 6 LCD tv, but then this Philips came along.... Does anyone have this model? It certainly looks like an attractive proposition. Ive been reading some negatives about lag when running a PS3 and games through their TV's but I cant seem to find if it relates to this model. Does anyone have one and if so, opinions... http://www.dailydeals.com.au/philips-47”-f...3d-p-14677.html

But having said that i sell the 7403's at work and watch them most of the days. I have no issues with it thus far, OTHER THAN a slowish reaction to the remote control buttons but i use my harmony now so would'nt even notice
Benson1503559677 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Yea - good price. I picked one up one the weekend from HN (price was 2,300 on 24 months interest free through an acquaintance - would have been 2,080 on credit card). Sweet tele, however some lag on Fox IQ when HD Natural Motion selected.
setho Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 I got this tellie couple of months ago and very happy with it. no problems at all to speak of and picture is great. I thought i had a lag problem with DVDs, but it turned out to be the player, not the TV. For the price it is great buy. Although Philips will not be selling any more TVs in Australia they are still rqeuired to servie their existing warranties.
Benson1503559677 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Lag fixed - routed audio from IQ through TV and then into amp - all sorted
planet1503562718 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I got one of these on the weekend from Harvey Norman (Perth) for $2000 (display model). Can anyone point me to some settings for this model?
sixtiesstereofan Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Greetings forum members, This is my first post after being a long time lurker, so please be gentle with me. I am also looking for a Philips LCD & have seen the 47pfl7603 advertised on daily deals. I need to know if anyone has used this company & if so are they reputable & reliable. i am a bit reluctant to purchase online but i;'m also getting fed up dealing with dopy sales assistants who don't have a clue about wehat they are selling. Any feedback would be gratefully appreciated. My compliments to all who contriblute to this site. I have learned so much about aspect ratios, LCD Vs Plasma & many other issues & now that my head is reeling with all this info I want to buy before I lose interest. Looking forward to hearing from someone (anyone)

I have played around a lot but haven't had time to really set evertything the way I would like. The picture quality (especially on HD FTA) is excellent & the colours are very natural. This is my first experience with a full hd set & I can easily see the difference when viewing SD digital broadcasts. I have not yet watched a full move as the in-laws decended for christmas so no time. I suggest you get the retailer to show you the set with different inputs so you can make a informed decision. The price was just too good to pass up & I'm glad I took the punt. Over & out for now. Edited December 28, 2008 by sixtiesstereofan

hdfreak Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 (edited) yes i think so, so far when changing input from HDMI to TV it appears like it is responding but it keep on coming back to HDMI after 10 sec or so, eventually after a 2 tries it change. anyone has this issue? #Darren Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 i got the 47" for $2300 interest free and so far so good. Did you get it from HN? How many months interest free? Did you haggle at all or was that the asking price?
hdfreak Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 yes it was from HN moore park. at the time they only had 4 in stock i took it on 12 months part interest free ($1500 + $800 cash) the ticketed price was $2488. i would have got it for $2100 without interest free but a mate owed me money which was used as interest free.

Excellent picture quality particularly on HD channels. Only negative is I get a lag when watching a dvd with sound going through surround sound amp. Switching off the HD natural motion fixes this however. Picked it up at HN for $1800.
