celluloidtongue Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 (edited) After recently installing the latest upgrade for the Sharp BDHP20X, I've found all discs which had previously experienced loading/playback problems now play like a dream, however I today purchased the JB-exclusive Australian release of Shine A Light, and the thing just plain doesn't load up. I've tried every trick in the book and it simply sits on a blank screen for minutes before showing a loading wheel, only to return to a black screen which, after twenty minutes, I'm still looking at. Has anyone else picked this up yet? I'm assuming it's just some weird compatability issue or something, but it'd be great to hear back from someone. Edited November 8, 2008 by celluloidtongue
Laminer Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I haven't got around to watching it yet, however I just tried it then, and it worked fine on my PS3

celluloidtongue Posted November 8, 2008 Author Posted November 8, 2008 I returned to the point of purchase with the disc this morning, which - surprise, surprise - performed fine on their setup. They told me I should still swap the disc with them, just in case, as well as offering me a refund or exchange, but as I obviously want the title, I decided to swap it for another copy as they suggested. Just tried the new one at home again, and this time it's brought up a red "Your player requires a firmware upgrade to play this disc." I've just noticed - this is a Fox title, and I know the Sharp BDHP20X had problems with them in the past, but given I've installed the most recent firmware upgrade which was released especially to deal with the playback of Fox titles, I'm at something of a loss as to what to do...
