How the hell did he pull that off. I've seen some amazing flying, but one wing and he got it down in one (two really) pieces. Astounding.

Sorry pneu,

I'm pretty sure it's not fake, having watched it a number of time this arvo, haven't googled the source due to busy, busy... the manouvre at the end just priod to flipping the plane upright is called a 'Knife-Edge',. These aerobatic planes generate enough thrust from propellors to go 'Ballistic'', ie more thrust than the plane weighs, hence his (F$%*&G) incredible use of the rudder as aelerons, and aelerons as rudder... I think I have that right.

Regards

Oh come on, look at how the plane bounces off the ground, completely fake. The camera goes out of focus to try and hide it. Also the commentary is total wank "OMG! RUN!"

Seriously what's wrong with you guys :D:P:lol:

Mr duck thought it fake too

it probably is

but still cool

This clip had all my fellow aircraft maintenance engineers at work gobsmacked! Even the CEO was asking if we had seen it .

We often assemble new aircraft from crates which involves bolting the wings and tail on and a clip like this definately gets your attention!

I have been told its a fake but have not got any factual back up for this .If it is it sucked in a number of very experienced engineers .

There is an actual video on you tube of an Israeli F15 fighter that lost a wing during a training accident and landed safely includes video interview with pilot.

Aerobatic and fighter aircraft can generate lift from fuselage when flying knife edge as its inclined at an angle to relative airflow and they have greater than 1 to 1 power to weight ratio and huge rudders/elevators compared to normal light aircraft.

The old saying is anything will fly if you put enough horsepower in it!

will see if I can find f15 vid

The wing looked like it just "fell off"?

If it was a fake it was a good one - if it was real... even better !

Come on guys, it's pretty easy to see this is a model aircraft....you can even hear how high-pitched the propeller and/or engine noise is during those moments when they haven't dubbed over the real soundtrack properly! Still a pretty good feat though managing to land the thing so well!
