sticks1977 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Firstly my apologies if a thread like this already exists - I am rather new to the forum and have looked around here and have not been able to find a similar thread... Are there any blu-ray movies that you would recommend that I should buy? So far I have Spiderman 3 and Talladega Nights (that came in the PS3 bundle) and I recently purchased Transformers. If there are any more titles that you could recommend... please let me know!
ajm1503559545 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Depends what movies you like out of what's be released. Have a look at the disc review thread at the top of this section. Also worth having a look at websites like Hidefdigest which is full of reviews, although they're based in the US and the discs they review are sourced there as well. Still will give you some idea what's available.

John_Melbourne Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 As per AJM's comment mate. Really comes down to your taste in movies. In my opinion though... For pure excellence in picture quality and in no particular order.. Iron Man, I Am Legend, No Country for Old Men, I-Robot, Kung Fu Panda (got an early release copy of this on Wednesday and it looks better than Cars - no ****!). For exceptional audio...The Incredible Hulk (Edward Norton version), Cloverfield, Rambo (US Edition), Queen Live At Montreal.
the_wonderchild Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 A select few from different categories; some for their story, others for demo material. Black Hawk Down (you can get this at a good price now, hence quite worht the look) No Country for Old Men There Will be Blood I, Robot (out very soon locally) Kill Bill 1 & 2 Godfather series Apocalypto Ratatouille Close Encounters of the Thid Kind Casino Royale POTC And assuming you haven't previously bought into HD-DVD; Blade Runner Batman Begins Pan's Labyrinth Matrix Series Zodiac
ekkieTHUMP Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 A quick look at my collection and i would say 2001 and Blade Runner are easily the most outstanding BD's so far.Tekkonkinkreet is my fav for video and Black Hawk Down for audio.Zodiac gets a mention for the outstanding extras and Welcome to the Jungle gets my vote as the release that most blows it's dvd cousin away.
