it doesn't look like you've ever been part of these 'sales' over the past few years ??? they've always been widely reported.

these passwords will be supplied either via email or you can check sites like DVDTalk. Don't worry - we aren't left out.

mmmm - 25% off ................. will this make up for the depreciation of the Aussie Peso over the past 3 mths ???

EDIT : just a quick heads up for 'newbies' to these DeepDiscount sales :

1 - Maintain a WISHLIST on the site and keep these prices on an Spreadsheet - as prices DO CHANGE.

2 - Just because it 25% on DVDs and Blu-rays - DONT THINK that this is the best deal that this site has ever had. There may have been BETTER deals during the year on various titles.

3 - The SHIPPING RATE is determined by the TOTAL COST OF YOUR TITLES PRIOR TO DISCOUNT.

Please refer to the table below for applicable international shipping rates:

Order Total Shipping Charge

Up to $25.00 $5.95

$25.01 - $50.00 $8.95

$50.01 - $100.00 $12.95

$100.01 to $150.00 $16.95

$150.01 to $200.00 $23.95

$200.01 to $250.00 $29.95

$250.01 to $300.00 $37.95

More than $300.00 $99.95

International orders of $300 or more ship via UPS Worldwide Express Delivery

4 - EXPECT LONG SHIPPING TIMES !!! there's no point whining about it !!!!!!

5 - PRE ORDERS DO NOT GET DISCOUNT !!!

With the state of the AU $ it just doesnt seem worth it unless you after titles that ant be gotten here. Prices are pretty much coparable if not more than here once shipping is factored in.

Even adding the discount the DeepDiscount prices are still higher than DVDPacific (which are high enough to put me off). On top of that add DD's pretty attrocious shipping times and that's more than enough to make me look elsewhere.

Personally, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the AUD will recover in the new year and importing becomes affordable again.

Gotta agree with everyone here that importing is crazy right now and DD is a pain in the ass with shipping (as well as expensive). I aint going to them again ever.

Hmm got me worried now.I just placed an order for Incredible Hulk on BD couldn't wait until March 2009. Are we talking weeks or months here for the shipping? What are peoples experiences please share

The coupons I see here (SUPERSALE and SAVE) aren't working for me. Is it only in in stock or something?

Ah, not on preorders I see...

From recent experience 3-4 weeks to arrive once sent

I've put in a request for the order to be cancelled that's too long to wait.

go to www.dvdtalk.com - the forums - and bargains and you'll see a thread with all the codes - give them a try from there !!!

i am pretty sure the codes don't work on pre-orders.

i personally can't justify any DD purchases considering the dollar and postage time.

Yeah, you got that right. I did the calcs and with postage they still work out around $40+ for the titles I'm looking at.

Damn I wish CDWow didn't realise that they hadn't adjusted the A$ exchange rate since July...

I just ordered 'planet earth' and 'blade runner' collectors edition. Worked out to be ~AU$120

Now the problem is the items are out of stock atm but should be happy if they arrive before Christmas.

Just wondering, since they don't charge until they ship out the items, will they charge based on the current value of our dollar at the time of shipment? (If so I hope our dollar strengthens further!)

I hope you're not planning to give away those titles as Christmas presents. Based on their last sale about 4 months ago, there is a small but real chance of the out of stock items not getting to you by then.

I am going to place an order for few items this week, most of which are already out of stock. But I am in no hurry for these items & getting myself ready for 4-8 week wait.

And yes, they'll charge at the time of shipping.

Ok - I have ordered from DD previously and know how long it can take.

So I've just sold my HD DVD collection and am replacing the good titles now on Bluray

Likely to order over $500 worth to make use of the 25% discount.

At $500 the order is upgraded to International Express Courier (or something like that)

Anyone used this service before from Deep Discount....... and is it actually Express???????

Also would any pre-orders or out of stocks recieve Express treatment as they become available.

Unlikely to order any out of stocks but a couple of preorders.

so you're prepared to pay $US 100 for the delivery of $US 500 WORTH of Blu-ray discs ??? I would probably suggest saving a few $$ and splitting the order.

However - I've never spent that much at DD (and I think very very few Aussies would have either since they've changed their shipping prices). With regards to the 'express' delivery - no idea - but given DDs record it might be express or it may take a week.

With respect to getting EVERYTHING SENT by express - in stock and out of stock - I can more or less say FORGET THAT !! DD will most likely SEND what it has on hand EXPRESS and anything else (BACK ORDERS) by STANDARD POST. Given that you and I and no one else knows what they have IN STOCK it will be a 'gamble' to spend that much on shipping.

So - are u spending $A500 or $US500 ?????

Actually - with the $A crashing - and the US economy stuffed - reading threads on DD purchases this time around has seen less and less purchases - especially in the US. Me - I'm only 'sitting' on a small selection of budget DVDs..... even thinking do I really need them with the $A at 0.64c today.

I was ordering enough titles to get it back down to $31Aud delivered per title after the jump in shipping to the Express level, which I was comfortable with.

However in the few hours of laving work and getting online at home more than half the titles have switched to "OUT OF STOCK"

So no more DD order - not waiting around for any backorders from them, that's for sure!!!!!

Interntational courier takes 2 or 3 days to get to sydney, they use UPS.

the out of stocks and pre- orders will ship via normal post. It would be better if they gave an option for holding the order.
