Is a 3d Comb Filter important on a plasma the reason I am asking is I bought the Panasonic TH-50PZ80A a few days ago and it said in the specs that it has a 3d color management feature and also in the manual that came with the TV it states a setting for the 3d Comb in the picture settings but I don't have that option in my picture settings.

I rang panasonic and they told me that it does not come with 3d color management but it clearly states in there specs on there site that it does, and in the manual of the TV it states a 3d comb setting but in the TV itself there is none there.

How important is this setting and if it is important what can I do about being mislead about it.

Pretty sure that unless your watching through composite video - it wont do anything :-)

Comb filters 3d or otherwise, are used to reduce artifacts in composite video signals... im pretty sure they arnt active for s-video, component, rgb or hdmi..

Unsure what a 3d colour thingy does :) - If its a colour management system (allows you to change the colour of 'red, green or blue') and you are going to calibrate your tv with a sensor (or get it professionally calibrated) it's a good thing to have. If your not going to calibrate it - dont worry about it!

link <- I cant see anything on that model about a 3d colour management system..

From the panasonic marketing spiel elsewhere, the 3d colour somthing or other looks like it just tells fibs about the colours - making up how it thinks the colours (colour saturation, brightness and contrast) should be :) <- which isnt necessarily how they are, or how the director wants you to see them :) depends if you want an image that shows natural grass green grass, or fluoro green grass :)

If you want a little more oumph then it might be a good thing.

Thanks for your help, but the 3d colour management feature is mentioned in the downloadable brochure under the specs for the 80a and it also says it for the 800a.
