The fact that the whole thing was put on in a dodgy warehouse with a couple of cars parked in the room to make it all look lame cool makes me think there were more than a few people in there with no real idea why.

But the conclusion was correct, so what do I know....

Actually what I really found most surprising was that there were a dozen or so people involved and none of them died or suffered an epileptic fit from the deadly RBE the DLP would have been pumping out!

RBE didn't effect them because they were HT journos, they were already (brain) dead...

Let me guess? All of you are LCD owners? pathetic... The respective reps/tecchies were there from both companies, but I guess you would know more than them. LCD specs always lie but the eye never does.

Actually judging by the preachers avatar he is a CRT fan, although I suspect he is a closet DLP fiend. I think Mark is just a home theatre whore, but his discussions in the W5000 thread makes him look like a DLP lover and I am actually a DLP owner...

I love my DLP too, and have 2 other LCD projectors on show, but my W5000 is the machine of preference.

I'm sorry, but that comparison was a total waste of bandwidth. Where do people find this rubbish, and for what purpose?

We all know DLP has always displayed a more vibrant 3 dimensional image... Who is he trying to convince?

'What is understood need not be discussed'....

Read the first 4 replies gronk, it is clear they dont "understand" it. I guess you are the only one allowed to put up posts of not relevant things like 3d holographic images which nothing to do with anything. This is more relevant than your nerdy post. ZZZZZZ

Hmm. Considering I was the first reply and agreed with you (that it wasn't suprprising that DLP was the winner), I must say I find your outrage puzzling at the least.

Reply No 3 also agreed with the conclusion and reply no.4 was from Mark T who happens to be running a 1080P DLP in his setup.

Must say, I can't see any pro LCD bias there.

No Angry, this is old news. Like you said in your first post 'everyone knows DLP is better' So what's your point? Everyone knows....and?

Not many, if any knew about the 3D stuff on here, which was far more interesting than going over the same old DLP v LCD argument yet again.

It's ok little buddy, the milk bottle is nearly warm, I'm sure your thumb tastes good and the men in white jackets will be along any second now...

In the eternal fight between LCD and DLP, LCOS comes out on top! ;-)

Hmm, maybe. I've seen the two leading LcOS/DLIA machines and I am still thinking DLP has some life in her yet...

And yes, I own a 1080 DLP :D

This test should be done again with the brightness of both projectors equalized......the brighter projector next to the less bright in a side by side comparison, always captures the eye....."Don't be seduced by the brightness"

Perhaps a Epson TW2000 with the Infocus.............eq'd of course. Side by side tests without EQing light output is totally valueless.....ANSI destruction.......eyes iris function will optimise for the bright image, crushing detail on the less bright image etc......

Didn't know that the JVC HD750 and Sony VW80 were available for viewing here yet :D

I'm glad we aren't talking about Nukes here........which one makes a better overall impact and which one is brighter.

Really, it all comes down to what technology you can afford at the time and one's tolerance of it's failings.

Arguing over which technology is better is like debating the merits of each brand of toothpaste.....ask a dentist first....it's all about preference.

They're probably not. I was referring to the SONY WV200 (LCoS) and the JVC RS2 (DiLA)...
