Steve28 Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Hey, I just bought a PS3 and wondering if its worth buying the component connector for it, its going to be connected to a 68cm crt tv. Is the picture quality much better with component on a CRT for the PS3 or should i stick with the standard RCA composite cables it comes with. I generally know component is much better quality, however i am not sure about the PS3, if its worth it on a CRT TV
wheelz Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Dont know about ps3 but using component on my dvd to my old tv was an upgrade in pq compared to composite. So i would say yes.

I agree, when I first got my PS3 I only had a CRT to connect it to, the component cable was well worth the purchase as the picture was much better than a composite connection You can usually pick up the PS3 component cables from $30 to $50 depending on the shop (EB discount theirs consistently) This has probably been mentioned before, but I still fail to understand that a $700 piece of 3rd generation hardware that plays hi def video only comes packaged with composite cables...
