midlife5 Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Just picked these up at big-w springfield lakes (qld) for $34 each, from memory on there website it had them listed at $44 each . Just outside big dub is sanity which has them at $46, i always like to have a look in sanity to see what ridiculous prices there charging plus one of the girls working is very pleasing to the eye, cheers peter.
midlife5 Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 They are also region free I think. Yes they are.
gavstar1 Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Just hired Kill bill part 1 on bluray and was looking forward to watching it today; I have a Samsung BD-P1500 player. The movie won't load in the samsung - spits it out and flashes a message 'this disc cannot be played'. Tried several times, but no luck. There is still no firmware upgrade available on samsung's aussie site that might have been able to fix the issue... I haven't had an issue with any other disc but this one. Has anyone else had a problem playing kill bill on a samsung?

I bought Kill Bill 1 & 2 last Thursday, Kill Bill 2 works fine, but Kill Bill 1 won't load, get the Miramax logo, Language choice, copyright warnings and then nothing, took it back to JB Hi Fi in Brisbane today and they replaced it, but the exact same problem occured. Great to know someone else is having problems thought it was my player, I have the Panasonic, so it is not just the Samsung. Guess I'll have to try the U.S. version which hopefully isn't region locked.

Wonder if it is a similar issue to the US release of Ironman that was recalled because it wouldn't play in a lot of blu ray players! Very Strange!
midlife5 Posted October 26, 2008 Author Posted October 26, 2008 Vol 1 plays fine on the ps3, watched it last night, fantastic picture and audio was vg. Tried vol 2 to make sure it loads (which it did) and watched a few minutes and the picture looked even better than vol 1. Both vol's highly recommended, cheers peter.
