Hi I am new to the IQ2 and so far I am impressed, but I am wondering is there a way to record from the box straight to another device for long term storage of favourite shows. I believe it is possible via scart to record to PVR or DVR or similar but what about a Hard drive device that is more simple. eg without tuners and lower priced. Will I have to wait for Foxtel to enable the esata or USB ports. Can anyone throw any light onto the subject or point me towards the threads that may have covered it already. thanks

well being a tech dummy i just ended up with IQ into the plasma and plasma into the DVD recorder and works fine for me. But lots of brains on here who will help you out.

Or you could go iQ into the Plasma and iQ directly to the DVD recorder or HDD or PVR or VHS of choice.

Irrespective, the only way i know of to get content off the iQ/iQ2 is to play it back and record it onto your media of choice.

Ok thread a tad old just wondering if there has been any change re recording via the vcr scart to a DVR either direct to the DVR or from the recording on the IQ2? Of course I would expect that pay per view and box office would be protected from copying just wonder whether the other channels are as well.
