Hosko Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) One of my TVs has died so I'm in need of a new 32" LCD display. I would like suggestions of which ones to audition this weekend. Obviously at this size it doesn't need to be Full HD also doesn't need to be overly packs with inputs I just need a single HDMI/HD Component input and composite. Thanks to anybody who contributes. 50mxe20 Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 In Perth the Pansaonic 32 inch LCD HD can be had for $950. There is no way you would get a full HD for that price, but why would you want one unless you are doing 1 to 1 pixel mapping or sitting on top of it.

These two can be had for under $950 easily - Samsung A450 LG (too complicated model number to recall) You MAY be able to get your hands on a Sony S-series for around $1000. Big W have it ticketed at $1198 but other stores are more negotiable.
fozmit Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 I recently purchased a samsung 37" which I have been really happy with. It is the series 5 full HD but I believe the series 4 1366x768 in a 32" can be purchased for under $1000 and I believe it would definately be worth looking at. Good Guys always seem to have pretty good deals and will usually come down even more if you talk to a salesperson.

Adam-JM Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 At the moment you can get a 42" Soniq plasma with a HDMI input for only $896 from JB Hi-Fi. It's not a big-name brand, but it could do the trick.

diesel Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Panasonic PX80A 32" LCD is advertised in Domayne for $89x. People have been buying the Panasonic 42" PX80 plasma for just under $1k. Remember, a 32" widescreen TV will not be as tall as a 32" 4:3 CRT.

Thanks but the reason I chose 32" inches isn't to keep the budget down its because it has to fit in between two 3/4 height bifold windows which are 80cm apart. So a 32" screen should fit nicely in between. I don't want the panel to stick out over the windows as that will reduce the view and defeat the purpose of having the bifolds. Anyway I have a 52" Sony XBR in the main TV room. Edited October 22, 2008 by Hosko

diesel Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Thanks I know a little about aspect ratios No worries, I wasn't trying to tell you how to suck eggs. Just a tip that many new people I have spoken to, don't consider when buying their first flatpanel.
