MouldyCrumpet Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 well all i can say is WOW we just set up our HC7000 and I cant believe how far LCD technology has come blacks are amazing, when a fade to black scene comes on the projector looks like its turned off, this is the 1st time i have seen any digital projector has achieve this. Colours are magic , nice and rich and detail amazing as ever perhaps even more so then the 6000 which was always regarded as one of the sharper 1080p projectors around. The projector is dead silent rated at only 17db. Biggest improvement of all is the ansi constrast , the slight veil i could see in mixed scenes on the hc6000 is no longer apparent with the 7000 it looks very dlp like but with none of the disadvatages of dlp. anyway , certainly worth having a look at it if your intersted regards Rob

glenncol Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Rob, wow is what I'm hearing also. Have not seen it yet but it seems lcd has bridged the dlp gap some more. Oz What i seen was pretty much straight out of the box and even at that it will give most a good run for their money
oztheatre Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 OzWhat i seen was pretty much straight out of the box and even at that it will give most a good run for their money My only query or concern is it does not run at 100hz? I believe the new Sanyo will do 5:5 pulldown and run at 120hz - motion flow technology. But it does 24 so that's a bonus, but 100 or 120 would be better for fast motion... so I'm lead to believe???. I assumed all the new lcd models would have this motion flow thing happening.. Though, is it really that important?
yamapro Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Hi guys would someone be happy to tell me approx street price for this beauty?? Ta

MouldyCrumpet Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 yep $5499 is the price, don't expect too much discounted as they are quite new. If your in Melbourne all the Big picture people stores have them exclusively, not sure about other states

That's impressive!

Hydrology Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Wouldnt mind having a look at one of these meself. Not in the market for one (have the VW60 after all) but certainly impressed by what Im reading.
glenncol Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Wouldnt mind having a look at one of these meself. Not in the market for one (have the VW60 after all) but certainly impressed by what Im reading. How you going with the 60 now?
Hydrology Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 How you going with the 60 now? Well I still havent fixed my problem but thats been largely due to family commitments at the moment. McKenzieJr over in my VW60 thread (who was invaluable in my decision to buy one at the beginning) has confirmed he saw the same issues Im experiencing and believes with proper attack can be resolved and eliminated. I am in debt to him as I was beginning to think I was just the unluckiest sod around. I guess Ive been frustrated that little to nobody else over at the AVSForum could relate to what I was experiencing (even Jason Turk seems to think its keystoning - please!). Will play around with his suggested settings tomorrow and report back in the next few days. On the whole though despite the "issues" its an incredible performer!
Chesty Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 (edited) Mitsubishi always seem to be first with the new models. I would be waiting for a few reasons: * The other guys will have their new models coming through soon also. * The street price of the HC7000 is sure to come down a bit. Buggered if I would pay over $5k... Edited October 21, 2008 by Chesty
BladeRnR Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 (edited) Interesting. I got the quote above ($5299:00) over the phone and now an E-mail from an earlier query which is lower: Justin, Thanks for your interest. We are currently selling the JVC HD-A1 for $5495. The new HD750 is not available yet and has only just become available in the states so December/January earliest. We have the Mitsubishi HC7000 on display as of Friday last week. It is sensational in every respect and outstanding value at $4999. Please feel free to call in for a demo and we can arrange installation, screen and cabling if required. Thanks again Regards David Galloway Ozone Knox City Shopping Centre 03 9801 5700 Proprietor www.bigpicturepeople.com.au I'd say with further haggling (i.e Pay Cash) you'd get it cheaper especially in these tough economic times. I'll still wait for pricing on the HD750 before committing to anything. Edited October 21, 2008 by BladeRnR
Riv39 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Has anyone done a comparison to the Epson TW2000, are the blacks better and what about colour non-uniformity, anything noticeable?
Hydrology Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Interesting local price on the JVC there. Its one, despite being over 18 months old that I would still consider a purchase on.
oztheatre Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Yep let them sort themselves out first, new epson and sanyo coming soon. More than likely new BenQ models next year also from what I've been told... Then hopefully the new breed of LED projectors the following year.
EasterBunny Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I'll still wait for pricing on the HD750 before committing to anything. As will I and no doubt a lot of people, so any idea when we'll have some idea of what it will cost us?
