I own over 2000 Blu-ray's (1803 is my offical count on Blu-ray.com, however I have a few hundred doubles for various reasons. I prefer not to list most of these as it makes it less organised when I or other people look through my electronic collection), and a few hundred DVD's. Other than 2 or 3 trades none are second hand. I have never accidentally bought a movie I already own, I am aware of what I own at all times simply by memory, as soon as I see the cover on retail shelves or on online stores I know whether or not I own it. I import from all over the world (I have Blu-ray's from 14 different countries in my collection), seeking out superior versions for P/AQ. There are not many superior versions that I don't have when it comes to P/AQ and I don't care for special features at all. I had two large shelves custom made to store my collection a few years, they are made out of solid Tasmanian Oak, which set me back close to $3000.

I've been lurking over on Blu-Ray.com ever since the turf wars here fired up ... Gotta say, they are far more constructive in their discussions of new releases than here and much more of a collectors forum. If you are serious, like Cevolution, check it out. not so much tech discussion though ... AVS is my go to for that.

Some of the collections with those sorts of numbers are fake. They add tons of titles that have been entered into the database but have not been released yet, with no release date in sight. They also add 3 or more versions for many titles they claim to own. Some of them are essentially troll accounts, where they simply want to be seen as having amongst the largest collections on the site. When you see collections of this size, I take the opinion of 'pictures or it didn't happen'.

It'd be rare that I make a mistake, when this has happened it's been due to misinformation that someone has provided. Though sometimes you just have to take one for the team. I spend a lot of time on Blu-ray.com reading threads so that I can make informed decisions.

My collection includes 250 titles containing 305 different releases. This includes 18 box sets containing multiple movies, movies from the same franchise or tv shows containing multiple seasons. Excluding different cuts of the same movie.

A tiny amount compared to what they hold ... my collection would be quite a nice cars worth, so yours more so.

True. I don't really like to think too much about the amount I've spent on my collection ;) My shelves actually ran out of space about the beginning of this year. Over the last couple of years since I last took photos, I've gradualy moved all of the DVD's, and a lot of the missus romantic/romantic comedy Blu-ray's to a separate buffet cabinet, where I also store all my video games and CD's. The buffet cabinet is also getting very close to full, so I'll be looking into more storage soon...

Wow just looked back when we lasted posted in here with our collection numbers and it was the year 2013.

Time flies and since then i have started to also collect Bluray steelbooks, now those things cost a small fortune and take up more space.

I am losing real estate trying to store them all, luckily my kids have left home and now have encroached into the bedrooms built in robes to store them.

Honestly mate, a sense of humour is something most of us value.
