GLO Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 I suspect after one of my tuners on my IQ has died, I always get a black screen (foxtel menu is still there though) and any 2nd recordings always fails. Appreciate any feedback. Cheers
hawto Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I am not sure if you have iq or iq2 but when I had my iq2 for a week or two the second tuner just died. I could not watch anything whilst recording one show and all my second recordings would fail. If you go to System Details and Signal Strength, what does it say for your signal strength?

Don't have an IQ, so I can't help you how - someone else here will.

Don't have an IQ, so I can't help you how - someone else here will. There is no way to do a hard reset of the IQ1/2 without going into the installer menu. Foxtel will not instruct you how to do this as you can screw up many settings rendering the STB useless. All they will tell you to do is a soft reset and/or unplug the STB and allow it to sit for 10 mins before plugging the power back in.

Cheers it's probably the hard drive going , normally happens at the same time you start to see failed recordings or series link playing up Edited October 13, 2008 by fiddler
darockk Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 yeah ive had this problem a few times with IQ1 the symptom i got was it would not let me watch a different channel to the one that was recording, and this also means any 2nd recording would fail. i just turn it off at the mains which usually fixes it.
