azure1503559508 Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 I was asked the other day what was the first movie released on blu-ray. (Like how the ABBA album "The Visitor" was supposedly first CD off the press) I thought it was "Black Hawk Down" but I'm probably wrong. I suppose I should be thinking Japan not the US. Does anyone know? cheers
SDL Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Found the following article re: the Samsung first player coming out "There will be just 10 Blu-Ray titles available when the BD-P100 ships, including 50 First Dates, The Fifth Element, Hitch, House of Flying Daggers, A Knight's Tale, The Last Waltz, Resident Evil Apocalypse, and xXx. Sanduski says by the end of year the number of titles will swell to as many as 200." So one of those in the US, but could have been something else in Japan.

EasterBunny Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 (Like how the ABBA album "The Visitor" was supposedly first CD off the press) OT I know but there a conflicting opinions on this as ABBA's "The Visitors" wasn't the first CD that Polygram released as they'd already released a classical title and some say the Billy Joel's "52nd Street" (Sony) was the first "pop" title to be pressed.
