Damien Buckley Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 (edited) I have my DMR-BW500 connected to my Denon AVR-4306 using HDMI. As my receiver doesn't decode HD-audio so up to now I've used the 'Secondary Audio' setting which sends LPCM for all modes. I'm just wondering if I should be using 'user' and turning 'Secondary Audio' on - which I think outputs a Dolby Digital / DTS Bitstream. Any ideas which is best folks? Incase anyone else has similar kit - I've got this pair connected to a Pioneer KRP-600M 60" plasma monitor and switching to Chord Silve Plus1.3 HDMI cables from the Panasonic ones I bought previously, has made a HUGE difference - picture is better, sounds is waayyy better - bass is cleaner and deeper and the overall sound much improved. I bought them from hificables.co.uk as they were about 30% cheaper (delivered in a week) than the best local cash price I could get. just thought I'd throw that in. Shonky* Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Using the LPCM method from the player is the best option as long as the player is decoding the TrueHD/DTS HD MA tracks and not the regular DTS or DD tracks.
