Philips 32pfl9432d - Way Below Expectations

Hi all

I just got this tv thinking the specs checked all my boxes - 3ms response, 100hz, high contrast ratio...but after setting it up and fiddling with settings it still plays like a cheapo $500 tv imported from goodness knows where.

*I can see pixels even on animated dvds, often not even able to make a full circle without jagged edges

*It doesn't seem to get bright enough to show white without a distinct tinge of grey. I think the menu banners are supposed to be white too but not around here

*I was watching a football game in HD with all the fancy accelerators etc turned on, supposedly to give smooth action, but the football tick-tocked across the screen instead of spinning, and the players legs were ghosty and blur at times.

So my question is this - is my tv 'broken' or did I just make a bad decision?

I've had a couple of my techo-gentlemen friends have a look and they adjusted the settings and shook their heads too. I just feel so disappointed in it and that I could have saved a thousand dollars and gotten the same result.

Sadly yours

mjelly
