Adrian90 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Hello everyone, i have seen ABC News breakfast and i wasn't impressed as to what ABC is dishing up in the means of Morning news shows, i thought it was quite boring as they cycle through a heavily structured news bulletin, but given the type of viewers that may watch this program only just want news which is ok, but at the same time maybe they should remain competitive and should borrow some ideas off the other networks, also they should of broadcast it on ABC1 as it the main channel
DrP Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Its a news program, not a magical mystery tour advertising opportunity plug your product show. If you want it to be like the other early 'news' programs, then perhaps what you want isn't news at all.

Agree 100% It's obviously trying to fill a niche and doing a pretty good job, I reckon. As for putting it on ABC1, I think we are being primed for a 24 hour news channel on ABC2. Just my opinion FWIW.
mabster Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I don't think it would hurt to add some op-ed pieces or interviews. It is rather dry right now with its formula of a half-hour scipted news bulletin on repeat. I really like Barrie Cassidy and Virginia Trioli and I'd like to see them used as more than straight news anchors.
DrP Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 The ABC may be shy of fiddling with its news format. I'm sure we all remember the disaster that was 'National'.
BamBBBam Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 This show is pretty useless for WA because Foxtel only have 1 national ABC2, therefore it is shown between 3 or 4am and 6am.

BamBBBam Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Ever heard of a DTV tuner to receive ABC2 direct - and time shifted for WA I assume? I get other FTA thru the box, so don't want to have to add a digital tuner just to watch it..
bogues Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 This show is pretty useless for WA because Foxtel only have 1 national ABC2, therefore it is shown between 3 or 4am and 6am. This is more a foxtel problem. They have state based abc1, 7, 9 and ten, so I can't see why they can't have regional abc2 (even though it does not have state editions). Guess you could argue that for all foxtel channels though (although the +2 channels effectively mean that they are shown on the +2 channel at the 'correct' time)
