Hey Guys,

Has anyone had the pleasure of using the world's first HDMI 1.3 compliant soundcard/video enhancement card yet?

I'm picking mine up on Saturday and spending the day installing and testing out the TrueHD and DTS:MA bitstreaming and comparing it to the PS3's audio quality, and also its supposed brilliant SD - HD upconversion of detail using the splendid chip.

I wanna see if this badboy is the final piece of the HT system puzzle.

I've been keeping an eye on this myself. It certainly promises to solve a lot of the issues with HD audio and video but, from what I've read it's not living up to the promises just yet. Have a read of the thread at AVS and decide. Personally I'm waiting for the drivers and the application to catch up with the promises. At about ~$250-~$350 AUD I'd want it to be working properly and unfortunately that's just not the case.

Worse still it corrupts 24p output from the video card and bumps the gamma and/or brightness levels - so it's hardly a video pass through device. And if you're using Vista - forget it! No bistreaming whatsoever which means PCM and downsampling by TMT.

It's new and it's aiming high but so far it's failing miserably. And I'm avoiding it like it's infectious.

But... fingers crossed one day they get it right.
