Hey guys has anyone noticed how much more and more Auspost tend to suck nowadays......

Example 1. Completely and conveniently lost a HD DVD player sent to me from Brisbane earlier this year, in fact they couldn't even trace it from the suburbs to the mail centre

Example 2. Took 5 days to get a CD delivered from Richmond (Vic) to Berwick (Vic) about a 40 minute drive as the raven flies

just a couple of examples guys and I've got plenty more but they seriously are getting worse, maybe they should change their name to Amazon

I sometimes wonder if most of the time our orders take to get here from Amazon etc is because Aus Post are so slow.

Can't say I've really had that many problems - most of my stuff comes from Adelaide in overnight express packages - 2 days is the longest I've waited.

Yeah never ever had a problem with Express Post, guess my other moan being the number of packages (discs) that make it safely from OS and then the butthead postie tries to completely stuff the slip case by pile driving it into a space it won't fit in a million years, and they let these people ride on the road as well

I've found I can post stuff to the UK in less time than it takes to post stuff to WA.

Also the experience I have in posting 'stuff' to the UK varies depending upon the post office I send it from. The local post office insists I provide proof of ID, sign declarations and makes me jump through all manner of hoops while posting from the post office at Mt Pleasant (mackay QLD) it becomes $1.45, stamp on mailer, pop in mail box.

Oh, and lets not forget the sub-contractors they employ. One enterprising subbie in Mackay decided that actually delivering the mail was too hard and that dumping it in the middle of a cane paddock would be more appropriate. :o

Assuming it isn't destined for a cane paddock mail delivery seems to be more of a lottery than anything else. Pick a mail box and stuff the mail in there, regardless of the address written on the envelope. That not only goes for street delivery, it goes for PO Boxes too. Some of the stuff I've seen turn up in my office's PO box is nothing short of astounding.

Aust post isn't becoming a joke. Its been a joke for quite a while now IMO.

so far so good for me ^_^

sitting at a wooden desk here :D

but my personal favourites are

a/ the big envelopes that say ' Do Not Bend '

and

b/ when it takes about ten or more minutes to try and get your stuff out of the letterbox without taking the box apart :ninja:

how the hell they manage to jam that much in in the first place is beyond me :o

do they run courses for that?

i mean they go past like so fast that they must be trying for a land / mailbox speed record

Took 3 working days (5 days in total) for a disc to get from Bulleen to East Doncaster (me)....a 15 minute drive

oh...and don't forget the apparent inconsistency in sizing/pricing envelopes.

Jerry: I've been trying to jam stuff in the box, like you told me, but sometimes it says, "Photographs - Do not bend."

Newman: "Do not bend?" (laughs) Just 'crease, crumple, cram'; you'll do fine.
