jarthel Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I am playing a 4:3 DVD and it some instances, the output video is stretched (as expected). When I change the ratio to 4:3, there are gray bars on both sides of the screen. Is it possible to change the bar color to black? thank you
Fizz Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I don't think it is possible. I find the gray bars unsightly too. I suppose one solution is to play the DVD via your HTPC. So you'd have the computer's full desktop resolution going into the TV, and then your TV won't "know" it's playing a 4:3 video. I'm guesing you don't have an HTPC yet! Me neither. I spent all my money on the TV

jarthel Posted September 23, 2008 Author Posted September 23, 2008 I'm guesing you don't have an HTPC yet! Me neither. I spent all my money on the TV I have a spare PC (using a low video card atm) that will be turned into an HTPC. I will be moving a 8800gts card to that PC so I can game there as well.

Go to Setup, then adjust Side Panel: off (black) or low-mid-high shades of gray.
fawlty99 Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I think it defaults to grey to discourage burn-in.
