Sorry for starting a new thread, but I'm struggling to get an answer elsewhere.

I'm getting IQ2 installed next week and i'm wondering if the installer replaces the current IQ with the IQ2 without any new wiring or wallplate (Just a swap of boxes)?

For people that have had it installed did the guy just swap the box or did he put more holes in your wall. I'm interested in knowing this because I have a foxtel wall connection in another room and might want to move the IQ2 to that room in the future, but if there is a new connection required (Wallplate ), I won't be able to move it to the other room in the future.

Thanks guys,

It sounds like the installer has to do some new wiring when you changed from a normal STU to the IQ, so i take it you have satellite?

If you are having the IQ1 swapped to an IQ2 in the same room then there will be no extra wiring nescessary.

If you want to move the IQ2 into another room that has not had the extra cable run from the satellite dish to the wallplate then you wont be able to use the IQ2 as an IQ2.

If you have cable there is nothing to worry about, you can freely move the IQ's around.

Thanks mate.

I do have cable, forgot to mention that.

I currently have a Foxtel wallplate in my Bedroom (IQ connected) and Lounge room (Standard Digital Connected - Have previously had the IQ connected here). I wan't the guy to install the IQ2 in the Lounge room, but in a month or two i'm getting a HD TV in my bedroom and will move the IQ2 to the bedroom. I gather from what you said I will have no problem swapping the box myself?

Sorry for being such a dumb a***. I have called foxtel, but the people I speak to don't understand s***.

No probs.

As you are lucky enough to have cable there will be no issues swapping the IQ's around yourself.

Its simply a matter of unplug. move, plug back in
