buzz438465 Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 (edited) I have been quoted a price on the Denon AVR-4308CI that will land these units into Australia GST included for less than $1,000 AUD each. Minimum order 6 pieces. Also quoted for the AVR-3808CI and the minimum order is 3 units. I haven't asked the voltage of the units yet. If anyone knows of Indonesian suppliers that can't be trusted let, please let me know. The supplier is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. I am going to see if this supplier can be trusted then take on the risk myself. I gather this will generate some interest. Not sure about the warranty and don't really care at that price. They also have the AVR-5805 but the price is too much, well over 4 grand Edited September 22, 2008 by buzz438465
Shonky* Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 (edited) Interested BUT sounds very shady to me. Would want to know more details before handing over that kind of money. Even in Singapore you're talking >$A2k for that unit. At least with a wire transfer to someone like KEC they have a proven track record. I'd be mainly looking at the 3808 but at that kind of price a 4308 would come in. BTW: If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, right? Edited September 22, 2008 by Shonky*
fawlty99 Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 That's too cheap. Either a scam or hot imo.

Shonky* Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Oh and that Geers name and address is legit. Found references to it. Whether it's the real scammer or not is another question. Let it go mate and order from Singapore if you need/want a bargain. Actually it looks like the original page (hosted on dreamhost) has been compromised and redirected to that elexocath.com one.

Shonky* Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 And "Bank Transfer" or "Western Union" are the only payment methods. Do people still get sucked in by sites like this?

And property scammers and share investment advisers that call you up in the middle of the night and say they only need a few thousand to get you started.
