I previously was using a 32 inch widescreen HD CRT and was plagued by a slight red push through it. It was bizarre because prior to that Fox looked great through my 68 pano through S-Video.

I was so annoyed and bothered by the red/brown tinge to the picture quality through the HD CRT tv that in the end I went out last week and bought a 50 inch plasma and have now found that the red push is even worse. I am using a foxtel component cable and have it set to vuv or whatever the setting is for component, but imo the colours look terrible (some channels are far worse) as some of the channels IMO just have way too much red brown throughout the picture (faces look slightly orange and most of the colours have a slightly reddy brown wash to them).

Is this common with Foxtel through larger screens??? Is this an issue my with foxtel stb ?? or is there some way to calibrate my Samsung plasma to try and hide it ??? Is the picture quality and resolution better through IQ2 and hdmi ????

I found this to be the case when I went over to an IQ2.

My IQ1 had a noticable better picture, and I find that the IQ2 can at times exaggerate colours and not seem as life like.

I never got this with my IQ1.

I'm connected to a Bravia X via HDMI.

I tried component, and it made no difference.

some (most?) LCD/plasma TVs will have a slight red push out of the box because it theoretically looks more lifelike in an artificially lit room (like the retailer showroom). and better to have a slight red push than green or blue.
