Jeffie1503561482 Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 A review of the new SA8003. Look very similar to the Reference series (and the rest of the 003 lines) http://www.techradar.com/products/audio-vi...3-456022/review says 700 pounds, I wonder how much it will be here.
Juicester Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 general rule of thumb for uk products - triple it and then add some because of rip off distributors.. lol.... my guess? an rrp of around $2080. we'll see tho.
dham Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I was just looking at the user manual of this. http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/wildwestele...a8003manual.pdf They say it is a SACD player but only have two channel analog outputs and it clearly sa it can play SACDs only two channels. I guess the whole purpose playing SACD is lost??

I guess the whole purpose playing SACD is lost?? not lost at all - for quite a while now (since the SA8260 afaik) marantz have ditched multi-channel SACD capability in favour of 2ch only, which many would argue is the "purist" approach. multi-channel capability adds a fair amount of complexity and many belive its more of a gimmic anyway. i think its not a bad thing, happy to leave the multi-channel side to a universal player (or even my PS3), which feeds digitally to the AVR anyway.

You can buy these in Singapore around A$700.00 Does this mean 5.1 channels on SACDs are sent to Stereo or you loose sorround channels?
