Jamie88 Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 (edited) Hey guys, Were finally looking into changing over from optus to foxtel. Just wanted to know what the benifits are over optus, for the moment just looking at getting the std box, IQ has no use to us as we use our dvd recorder for anything we miss. If you have optus cable then chances are you cannot get foxtel. Fill this in https://www.bigpond.com/internet-plans/broa...ity/default.asp If it says you can get bigpond cable then you can get foxtel. Aside from not being able to get the IQ on optus i think the channels are identical
Jamie88 Posted September 16, 2008 Author Posted September 16, 2008 Family member was a supervisor at foxtel, we had it here via sat until they moved out now we have optus via sat Contracts up and im looking at getting a box for my room, optus looks like its going down the toilet so i think ill be giving foxtel a call.

mtv Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Many areas have both Foxtel and Optus cable available to the same address. If cable isn't available, then Foxtel satellite will be. (Metro areas & regional WA only of course)

(Metro areas & regional WA only of course) Is there much point? From what I could tell they are essentially the same really.

It's not that relevant, but i thought optus was going down hill aswell and that they were letting that side of the company die, but i just saw a post in the optus section of ths forum (in the seneta announcment), and a user is claiming that optus told him/her that HD will be avaliable. But i dont know how reliable this source is. I was thinking of moving to foxtel because optus wasn't going to offer HD, but now they might be i don't think ill swap, optus is cheaper. Just some info that might influence your decision.
