I am not famialar with that model (and sorry if this is obvious)

but when I looked inside my LG DVD recorder the HDD was made by ...you guessed it LG!

I assume you then just have to check its a PATA (40 pin) connector or SATA (newer models i guess?)

Not sure if getting a drive will help you tee. A lot of DVDRs have the drive custom preformatted before installation. If there's not a 'format' option in the menu then possibly it will automatically kick in on power up but there's very few threads here on upgrading your DVDR harddrive size because you usually can't.

Hope you find otherwise. FWIW if you pull the lid off you should be able to see the connection type (probably old fashioned PATA (Ribbon) cable). The specs list it as a 160Gb drive. Make sure its switched to MASTER mode before installation.

Something like this is a generic option - no guarantees though.

What is your exact model RH266 P1M or RH266 P1L?

If it is a real RH2000 version, you can use any PATA hdd (also 2,5" with adapter, and, yes it's true, a SATA hdd with a IDEtoSATA adapter). Up to 1tb has been succesfuly tested.
