Okay this is a movie I've had nearly every version of known to mankind (well this and Apollo 13)....

Been looking forward to playing it on the BD30 and did tonight and I'm going to say right now that watching on the BD30 IMO it craps all over the PS3 and before all the scientologists come in with the scepticism as stated it is just my opinion and for mine further vindication of my purchase, however that stated this is the first BR I've watched where I could definitely say the BD30 showed up the PS3 for PQ.

Now I don't has a PS3 anymore so those of you who have can compare away if you have both I suppose, but for the record my equipment as follows

BenQ PE 8720

Dalite Permwall 110" screen

BD30

Marantz 7002

Elektra Theatron

Whatmough, Fronts, Centre and Rears

Whatmough Whise Impulse II Sub

Tara Labs Interconnects from Marantz to Elektra

Thor Powerboard

All speakers run with Kimber cable banana terminated

Sunbeam Electric Kettle

But seriously, I haven't watched this one since I got the BD30 so will have to give it a run.

I watched Mr & Mrs Smith last night though and I've gotta say the AQ through the BD30 absolutely walks all over the PS3.

Hang on, look what time Yorac posted this thread.

Clearly he has been on the juice again.

Well since you lot got my Wild Turkey sponsorship withdrawn (bastards!!! :ninja: ) I was partaking in a Jackie D during the movie

Watched Black Hawk Down myself on my BD30 on Monday night and it absolutely killed the DVD version. Cannot add to much to the Playstation 3 debate as I have never owned one but the PQ and AQ (HD passthru to an 805) was miles above anything I had seen before.

It's a no brainer IMHO.

I own both and the bd 30 Sh@ts over the PS3 for BD viewing.

PS3 is ok if you aren't fussy about pq and sq and playing sound through crappy display speakers or own a Panny 850 :D :D (sorry chicken POO I had to get that one in)

Geez I wish you guys would stop picking on PS3's .They have there own internet connection you know and read all this nasty c#*p you guys post about them.

Mines cracked the shits now and refuse to play blu-rays !

I told it to toughen up princess but that didnt work (ineffective with the missus too) .

So I have packed its bags and sent it back to Sony. :(

Of course most blu-ray players have better PQ and AQ than a PS3 because they actually will play a blu-ray disc.

Anyway only seen Black Hawk Down on the PS3 (blu-ray) and DVD whilst the blu-ray was better I would not say it was reference quality .

Had a chat with Lyle about his region free BD30? the other night at the GTG and it sounds like a great upgrade option.

Anyway must go take my BD withdrawal meds now .
