Due to some unexpected circumstances, I am regretfully placing my HD-DVD players and titles up for sale.

The first 'package' is the XE1 plus over 65 HD-DVD titles (many still sealed) including The Bourne Trilogy (sealed), MI Trilogy, Transformers (sealed), Batman Begins, Serenity, American Gangster (sealed), T2, Totall Recall etc. The player was purchased in March this year and on purchase I was given an extra year extended warranty. The player itself is in immaculate condition, lived it's life in a well ventilated cabinet, in a smoke and pet free house. The only problem with the player is that on the unit itself - the chapter skip buttons do not seem to function, nor the stop button. The Power, Eject, Play all seem fine. This was not a real problem for me, as I tend to use the remote for all commands, and rarely use the controls on the player itself. I have thought about taking it in for repair, but I was afraid I would receive a refurbished unit which could open up even more problems. Firmware 2.9 is loaded. The original box is also available, and all original receipts. I am happy to email full list of titles.

I am looking for offers around the $900 mark for the XE1 and titles, and have reduced my asking price taking the issue of the buttons on the front panel into consideration. At this stage I don't wish to split up the package.

Secondly I have a HD-A1 unit that was imported from the US, and I am its second owner. A first generation HD-DVD player complete with step-down converter. I am looking for around the $150 mark for this player + step down power converter. I will even throw in a few titles from the Toshiba redemptions. Sorry, no original packaging available with this one.

As I live quite a distance from anywhere in Perth, I am happy to meet the buyer in the CBD during working hours. I will ship to other cities, but would obviously prefer Perth buyers.

PM me for any info.

I think you would be in a better position to sell the XE1 if you invoked your warranty on it, after all you have paid for that warranty, and considering Toshiba are unlikely to have refurbished machines lying around but rather salvaged replacement parts, I think you are most likely to see your machine being repaired and returned to you.

the chapter skip buttons do not seem to function, nor the stop button............ I would doubt that would be a significant problem to fix.......certainly not a mechanical problem, possibly a ' dry ' joint on the circuit board, a 20 minute job for an experienced tech.

Yep, you are probably spot on with your assumption - but because it has never really been a big issue for me, the time involved in taking the unit to an authorised repair shop (in accordance with warranty), and the time it sits in the repair shop outweighed the advantages. I am only trying to be open and upfront with the advertisment - it may of been an issue that a potential buyer may never have discovered due to the limited use of the front panel controls for some.

Hi I am very interested, how do you feel about trade? or trade and money?

I own a home theatre business so I may have something you'd like.

PM me if you're interested.

Thanks.

Thanks for the interest. Regretfully at this early stage, my reason for selling is to raise funds, so a trade is not really an option for me.

Thanks,

I am seriously thinking about it, otherwise I hope you sell it soon, I think it's a great deal for anyone to get an instant HD Library.

Good Luck.

Sounds like a deal that could be struck over a beer at the Windsor in an hours time!!
