I am going to buy an LCD panel this week. Either an A650 or a Bravia X. 46" if I can get a good deal. I want to put it into our home theatre and wall mount it below the level of our projector screen. Currnetly with a smaller CRT the telly sits just underneath the screen and isn't too low. A 46" panel will have to be positioned lower though and I don't want to move the projector screen any higher. So - my brainwave is to use a wall mount that allows the panel to move up or down 15 to 20cm (more if possible) and bring it up anterior to the projector screen for telly watching and move it down when the projector is fired up.

I know a motorised screen would have solved this problem - but I wanted the advantages of a fixed screen - and its bought now so I am stuck with figuring out another solution!

Trouble is I can find all sorts of mounts that tilt the screen a few degrees up or down, or move it from side to side, but none that move it up and down like I want.

Has anyone seen anything suitable in their travels?

If I can't find anything suitable I might have to go with a 40" instead.

Well yes ... same results really. Lots of mounts that tilt or move side to side, but nothing that moves up and down that holds more than 20kg or so. There is an electrcally operated setup available from a place in the UK, whcih costs quite a bit more than the telly! Just hoping to draw on the collective experience of the forum. Lucky to have the problem I know.
